The Current Situation Of Primary School English Flip Classroom

The flipped classroom, as a blended teaching model could satisfy students' personal needs and improve efficiency, which perfectly matches the trend of future education. According to English Curriculum Standards(2011), teachers should make use of information technology, develop course sources and make the best of online teaching sources in order to improve personalized learning and students' independent learning. Both the flipped classroom and the English course have the same target. The study investigates a primary school in Jinan, and focuses on the flipped English course, trying to figure out the present situation, find problems in the flipping process, conclude the causes of these problems and provide useful strategies or suggestions.The study includes four chapters:Chapter one is about the present situation of flipped primary school English course by researching the sample school, teachers and students who participate in the flipped classroom.Chapter two summarizes the problems in the flipping process from the aspects of teaching design for flipped primary school English course and class recordings. The former acts as the blue print and the latter reflect the real flipped English classroom.Chapter three analyzes the causes of the problems mentioned in the last chapter. The teaching environment in the school, teachers' understanding of the flipped English classroom, the teachers' willingness to flip their class and basic requirements for students to take part in the flipped classroom prove to be the key elements.Chapter four provides strategies and suggestions on conducting the flipped English classroom in terms of bettering the environment, training teachers, teachers' self-improvement and develop students' independent learning abilities as well as cooperating abilities.
