| The arrival of the "big data era" and the "Internet+" plan accelerates the development of new education resources represented by massive open online courses, which has exerted a profound influence on China’s education domain. All sectors of society are now paying an increasingly close attention to it, and the contact between MOOC and universities also shows a more tightly tendency. As the core part of university management, the management of its education acts as an important means for universities to fully accept the educational innovation forms so as to blend in its own development. Whether universities can conform to the development of society in the way of grasping the opportunity and giving full play to MOOC to enhance the teaching management innovation and teaching quality provides a new train of thought on the development of high quality in universities in new period.Based on this and combining with literature research, this study tends to grasp the research status and results of MOOC both at home and abroad in a reasonable manner. It draws materials from high-quality MOOC platforms such as Coursera, Edx, and School Online to learn the basic situation. This study has conducted a field investigation by sampling a MOOC Practice University in Nanjing. It collects the first-hand information and uses the SWOT analysis framework to evaluate the present situation and development potential of MOOC. On this basis, in combination with the sample’s focused interview of teachers and administrators, this study further explores the influence on teaching management in universities and the changes and attempts to be made as well as remaining deficiencies in the practice of MOOC. Therefore, it attempts to deeply analyze the demand for reform and innovation of university teaching managements in China under MOOC background and propose new ideas and directions.This study holds the view that the current MOOC has a large potential to integrate with universities. It is the development of MOOC in universities that accelerate the teaching management in universities to make the adjustment and change to adapt to and accept the new situation. To a large extent, the impact of MOOC on teaching management of universities is embodied in the teaching goal management, teaching process management, teaching quality management, teacher management, student management and other aspects. In the process of MOOC practice, some attempts are made to reform teaching management in universities, but there are still efforts to be made such as the inherent concept restriction, in lack of propulsion, teaching innovation ability insufficiency, the contradiction between standardization and demand, and the unilateralization of management. Therefore, in order to better promote the collaborative development of MOOC with universities, this study put forward five proposals for the improvement of university teaching management under MOOC situation. Firstly, change the teaching management idea and innovate talent training mode; Secondly, promote the construction of management system and to build a professional management team; Thirdly, improve teachers’comprehensive quality and guide teachers’ elite development; Fourthly, broaden access to resources and encourage students’ personal growth; Fifthly, involve teachers and students in management and improve the teaching evaluation and feedback mechanism. |
