| During Chinese teaching process, composition exercise is always a great difficult point for teachers and students. Except the deficiencies during the teaching process, the writing and compiling processes of textbooks are also important factors which influence the composition teaching and learning. With the implement of new curriculum reform and guided by the philosophy of “one outline and more version”, various kinds of textbooks appear in a great number which brings a lot of choices for teachers and schools. Among them, JSEP(Jiangsu Education Press) bases its writing and compiling of textbooks on the principle of “respecting children development features and observing the teaching rules of mother tongue”, which shows us the requirement of new curriculum reform and features of modern time. JSEP puts the composition as a single unit which shows its emphasis on cultivating students’ writing skill. However, in the actual composition teaching process and learning process, we find that there are still some deficiencies in the compiling of primary school Chinese textbooks of JSEP.The object of this research is JSEP’s primary school Chinese textbook. First of all, from the view of logical compiling, we do analyses on 12 textbook of six grades and we find out the advantages and disadvantages of its compiling both crosswise and lengthways. Then, from the perspectives of composition exercise purpose, the example of composition and the choice and arrangement of pictures in the composition, we specifically analyze the part of composition in JSEP primary school Chinese textbook. We find that the themes they choose in this part are not related closely to our daily life; the long composition and short composition are not arranged in a balanced way; the types of writing don’t contain future effects; the choice of examples of composition are not precise enough both in the quantity and quality; the pictures of composition are not closely related to its themes. Finally, according to our analyzing results, we put forward that we should strengthen the openness of themes, pay more attention to the guiding and revising of writing, add some activities into the composition part and attach importance to the reading awareness of student’s composition exercise so as to make our due contributions to the improvement of the textbooks. |
