Chinese Language textbook is the most direct expression of the nature and concept of curriculum standards. As a bridge between curriculum and teaching, it is the main basis of the implementation of Chinese Language teaching. The PEP edition of high school Chinese Language textbooks (compulsory) is the most widely used in modern times. As one of four parts, the "Classics Review" plays an important part in learning the language, broadening reading horizons and enhancing students’reading skills. Students can establish a correct outlook on life and shape a sound personality. With the continuous reform of the new curriculum and the update of educational philosophy, "The Curriculum Standards of Chinese Language in Ordinary high school" (test) (2001) clearly stated in Article 10 of the third part of its curriculum goals that high school students should cultivate a wide variety of interests in reading, and broaden horizons. Students should learn to choose reading materials correctly, to select good reading books, to read the whole book, to enrich their spiritual world and to improve the cultural taste. Within one year, students should read not less than five literary classics and books, and the total amount not less than 1.5 million words. Although the specific learning requirements are not made, the "Classics Review" module also shows the importance of reading classics throughout the high school stage.However, there is no specific teaching of "Classics Review" in the teaching activities nowadays. Through the survey in many high schools in Shaanxi Province, I found nobody cares "Classics Review" and students are shallow, disordered, following the television and reading the current popular literature on the Internet. Teachers avoid and even ignore "Classics Review ". They only choose some parts for the recommended 10 literary works and find some commentaries of interpreting the classics. The teaching is increasingly showing utilitarian, localized and uniformization characteristics. The elective textbooks are random, and the compulsory teaching of "Classics Review" is only based on scores. Through a wide range of long investigation, this paper aims to explore the problems in teaching and learning of "Classics Review", analyze the causes of the current prevalence of embarrassing situation of "Classics Review" and solve the countermeasure and provide practical suggestions.In the specific implementation process, "Classics Review" teaching modules must have a bottom-up systematic adjustment. First, we must break the order of compulsory first and then elective teaching. For the "Classics Review" learning, the elective textbooks and recommended classics should be linked together. The theory and methods of the elective teaching textbooks and the famous literary works recommended in five compulsory textbooks should be linked to give full play of each part in improving students’reading ability, aesthetic ability and personality development and so on. Secondly, it should play a reasonable role in the college entrance examination. Most directly, the "Classics Review" should be put into the test content of College Entrance Examination; In addition, teachers can guide the score advantage of reading classics in reading comprehension in College Entrance Examination. Let reading novels seek a lifeline in the current educational environment and public education model and become normal in current teaching, boosting the quality education. Again, teachers should explore a variety of teaching model of "Classics Review" and separate the "Classics Review" teaching and traditional teaching of reading comprehension. Finally, a systematic "Classics Review" teaching evaluation strategy should be established, because teaching is not just a one-way teaching and learning, but also a timely evaluation and feedback.
