Since the 1950s, it has always been an issue of common concern for the government and the whole society to improve the holistic quality of the teacher team. The education administrative departments and many experts as well as scholars have made much positive and effective exploration. In order to promote the development of education, the teaching profession should be promoted first, which has become one of the emphases of teacher education reform. Intern teachers, as the main force of teachers in future, their professional development will play an important role in education development. Currently, there are large amounts of researches focusing on the professional development of Chinese teachers with complex contents and diverse themes. However, those researches are for the young teachers or the experienced Chinese teachers. Although being an indispensable part of the whole teacher team, intern teachers are paid little attention on their professional development. Intern for pre-service education is an essential required course for Chinese normal university students (including education professional undergraduates, tuition-free normal university students and postgraduates with major degree) to develop their teaching abilities. In the current pre-service teacher education, there are educational practice courses both for undergraduates and postgraduates, which is a vital phase for normal university students to practice according to the theory they have learned and to gain basic practical teaching experience for being teachers. All the skills and experience gained from the internship is significant for their professional development. This thesis aims at analyzing systematically the professional development of Chinese intern teachers in their internship, from the perspectives of Marxist Philosophy, Pedagogy Knowledge and the professional theories in Chinese discipline with the author's own and others'internship experience.This thesis analyzes the important role of internship from five perspectives: completion of role change, help on career choice, deepening knowledge and teaching ability as well as developing professional thoughts. As an important part of higher normal education, educational internship is a practical teaching process of combing theory and practice which will lay a solid foundation for the normal university students' teaching in the future.To help Chinese intern teachers to get better development during their internship, this thesis has conducted a comprehensive generalization of required specialty literacy for a qualified Chinese teacher according to different views of experts abroad and at home, which includes three aspects:specialized knowledge, professional ability and professional emotion. It may pave the way and direction for their professional development.After expounding the goals of it, the thesis emphasizes the strategies for Chinese intern teachers' professional development during three periods:before the internship, in the internship and after the internship, which makes them realize the key points of promoting their professional development as well as the dos and don'ts. It also provides an auxiliary reference for the Chinese normal students to take the educational internship.
