With the development of society,parents take infants and toddlers to participate in parent-child curriculums in early education center,which has become an important part of parenting,reflecting the importance of parents exert on the development of infants and toddlers,and parenting beliefs will not only affect their upbringing behavior but also affect the development of their infants and toddlers.Social-emotional competencies is a vital ability for individuals to grow up from natural person into a member of society.It has been sprouting in infancy and has a significant effect on the development of infants and toddlers.Therefore,this study explores the impact of parents' belief of participating in parent-child curriculums on the parents' behavior of their daily care and the influence of parenting beliefs and behaviors on the social-emotional competencies of infants and toddlers.This study assesses the parenting beliefs,parenting behaviors and their social-emotional competencies of infants and toddlers by means of parents' questionnaire.Among them,this study use self-compiled "parents to participate in parent-child curriculum belief questionnaire" to assess the importance of parental attention to the development of infants and young children,using "parenting behavior questionnaire" to assess the daily care of infants and young children,and the "Social-emotional competencies questionnaire " is to measure the emotional ability of infants and toddlers.In this study,firstly,we carry out the confirmatory factor analysis on the parents' parenting behavior questionnaire,and form a questionnaire with good reliability.Secondly,we use the methods of cluster analysis,variance analysis,correlation analysis and regression analysis to get the following conclusions:1.Parenting beliefs are divided into three type: neglect type,compromise type and attention type.2.Parenting beliefs will be influenced by economic income,and attention type parents have a higher family income than neglect type and compromisetype parents.3.Parental behavior is at a moderate level and is influenced by its beliefs.The higher the educational belief,the higher the parenting behavior.4.Social-emotional competencies of infants and toddlers are in the middle level,which influenced by their own age,gender and whether the impact of only child.The higher the age,the higher the social-emotional competencies;the pro-social peer relations of the girl are better than the boy.The non-only child's attention,empathy and pro-social peer relations are significantly higher than the only child5.Social-emotional competencies of infants and toddlers are also influenced by parenting beliefs,and the infant's social-emotional capacity of compromise and attention type parents is significantly higher than the infants and toddlers of neglect type parents.6.Parenting beliefs are positively correlated with parenting behavior,and parenting beliefs can significantly predict the parenting behavior.7.Parenting beliefs and behaviors are significantly positively correlated with social-emotional competencies of infants and toddlers.Parenting beliefs and behaviors have a significant ability to predict the social-emotional competencies of infants and toddlers.Parenting beliefs can predict compliance,imitation,play and mastery motivation,and parenting behaviors can predict attention,imitation,play,empathy and pro-social peer relations.
