Research On Regional Identification Of Shanghai Urban Central Activity Area Based On Business And Commercial Space Activity

In Post-industrial era,the functionally simplified ideal of Central Business District(CBD)is disputable.Metropolises such as London and Chicago initiate to explore multifunctional Central Activity Zone(CAZ)which includes commercial,merchant,leisure,cultural and tourist activities,distinguishing itself from the traditional CBD.Besides,Shanghai together with London and Chicago strikes the way to research CAZ.It is mentioned in the profile entitled Shanghai urban integral planning(2015-2040)that Shanghai aims to construct high quality CAZ.Taking urban center of Shanghai as an example,this thesis researches urban merchant space and business culture space including catering,shopping,leisure,and art space,on the basis of online POI data analysis and analyzing tool in ArcGIS,This thesis further defines the zone of CAZ in Shanghai.The research achievements are concluded below:The POI of each space in Shanghai urban area distribute asymmetrical y.Whether the POI of business office buildings or the POI of commercial and cultural facilities decreases progressively from the urban center to suburb.As a result,the density of POI in center areas such as Jinan District and Huangpu District is higher than the density of POI in other areas.The most active commercial space in the center area of Shanghai locates in Lu Ji azui.Other areas such as Babaiban,Bund,the northen Bund,and Hongkou football pit ch are as active as Lujiazui.The areas ranging from Nanjing road,jingan temple,midd le Huihai road is commercially active too.Besides from the disperse distribution of shopping mal,one of the commercially active areas,the distributions of other kinds of areas,catering,lesure,and art space for example are concentrated.The most commercially active areas are situated in the middle part of shanghai ur ban area.These areas from east to west include Babaiban,Bund,Nanjing road,renmi n square,Xintiandi,jinan temple,middle Huihai road,Xuhui riverside,the area from Hengshan road to fuxin road,Zhong shan park,west Yan'anroad and so on are very sui table for being the Central Activity Zone among the urban area,taking not only the m ultifunctions but also the scale into consideration.
