Before September 2016,Shanghai Municipal Education Commission issued ‘The Evaluation Guide of High-grade in Primary School Based on Curriculum Standards'.That means rating evaluation extends from low-grade to high-grade in primary school and rating evaluation in low-grade extends to all subjects.This leads to a series of practice and research in the comprehensive evaluation and individualized evaluation on students.Therefore,the author takes a look into the Portfolio Assessment.Portfolio Assessment refers to that students collecting material related to English learning with the help of teachers and parents during the process of English learning,and using these materials to evaluate the students in the development of English learning.The materials include left paper test,observation,questionnaire,any notes or narration they made in their own learning process.Portfolio assessment pays more attention on the process of students constructing knowledge,pays more attention on making learning behaviors into the evaluation,pays more attention to the diversity and comprehensive of students.There are five parts of this thesis.Chapter one is the introduction,mainly discuss the current English study in primary schools.The objects,methods and ideas of the study are included.The second chapter is the theoretical foundation of Portfolio Assessment.It mainly expounds the development status of portfolio assessment,also introduces the meaning,the type,the characteristics and the using principle of the Portfolio Assessment.The third chapter is the composition of the Portfolio Assessment in this research.The author mainly introduces the contents collected in the portfolio,also lists some evaluation forms.The fourth chapter is the implementation of the Portfolio Assessment in this research.It mainly introduces how to use evaluation forms,and shows pictures of some forms.In chapter five,the author gives the conclusion and expectation,and analyzes the shortage of the research.The author also puts forward some suggestions to improve the teaching in the future.
