With the implementation of the national "The Belt and Road" strategy,the importance of the Yunnan regional tourism cooperation with Southeast Asia,South Asia has become increasingly prominent.As one of the pillars of the tourism industry,the housing industry is also following the trend of rapid development.By the end of 2015,the province has a total of 614 star hotels,including the 20 five stars,73 four stars,and introduced 48 brands from 24 well-known international hotel group,with more than 3000 feature hotels.The demand for talent in the hotel market is considerable,and the data is growing every year.But as a supplier of talents,the number of students graduating from the major vocational colleges and universities that have opened the hotel management profession is nowhere near the demand for the development of the industry.Withing this shortage of talented people in hotel industry,the graduate employment rate is just 55%,and only 20% graduates still work in hotel industry after three years.To a certain extent,it shows that there is a gap between the abilities of students and the actual needs of society,and the capability and quality of all aspects of the hotel management graduates do not match the job requirements of the enterprise.Due to the unpleasant employment status,this paper aims to study the constituent elements of employability and promotion strategies of hotel management majors.The purpose is to enable the few professionals to find their niche in the professional field and to have a long-term development in the industry.Because the author is engaged in the teaching work in the tourism higher vocational colleges,the research object of this paper is the college students majoring in Hotel management.Through the collective interviews,individual interviews and analysis of the results,this paper obtained the elements of employability of hotel management majors,which can be divided into three aspects: knowledge,skills and quality,and for the specific elements,the strategy of promoting employability is proposed in three aspects: the student,the school(the educator),the talent user(the employer).One of the most important and most effective is the school education program: this paper puts forward concrete measures from the planning of hotel management,training programs,curriculum setting and key capability training.Through this study,it could enlighten the hotel management professional teaching team of similar colleges and universities to further clarify the target of talents training,improve the program of personnel training,develop the curriculum and train more professionals to meet the needs of hotel industry.It could enhance the ability,quality,service quality and job stability of people who in hotel industry and will have a certain impact on the development of talent in the hotel industry.
