Learning approaches adopted by college students act as an important factor influencing not only the academic performance of their own but also the quality of higher education.In recent years,calls for improving the quality of higher education from the prospective of students learning has grown.Student's approach to learning shows a feature of stability to some extent.However,on the other hand,they usually choose a certain approach according to their own perceptions of the learning task.So,approach to learning is also easily affected by the many factors from the learning environment,among which students' perceptions of the learning environment is gaining increasing attention.Based on the aforesaid understanding,this study adopted the method of questionnaire survey to investigate the current situation of students' approaches to learning and their perceptions of the course learning environment in a university in Shandong province.According to analysis of the data collected,the main problems in students' learning approaches were found,potential causes were discussed and some suggestions to improve students learning approaches were given.This thesis contains five parts:The first part is the introduction,mainly describing the background and significance and defining the key concepts of this study.The second part is the literature review,mainly summarizing relevant studies on the classification of students' learning approaches and on correlative researches about learning approaches.The third part is the investigation process and data analysis.Based on the data collected,this part analyzes the current situation of students' learning approaches from the perspective of both learning motivations and learning strategies.And it also analyzes the correlations between students' learning approaches and their perceptions of the course learning environment.The fourth part is the results and conclusions.This part mainly summarizes the current situation of students' approaches to learning as well as the gender,grade and discipline differences of their learning approaches,points out the main problems and discusses the potential causes.The fifth part mainly gives some suggestions to improve students' learning approaches from three perspectives,which includes: to cultivate students' deep motivations and enhance their learning commitment;to strengthen the training of deep strategies and increase the use of connecting strategy;and,according to group differences,to focus on prominent problems respectively.
