STEM Teacher Online Training Course Development Research In Maker Education

With the development of Maker and Maker Movement,Maker Education and STEM Education(interdisciplinary learning)have been attracted more and more attention by the education researchers domestic and international.As we all know,quality courses require high quality teachers as a guarantee.To train a maker requires the interdisciplinary knowledge provided by the STEM course.But the STEM teachers who can provide the STEM courses are short of supplies.There are not enough qualified STEM teachers who can carry out the corresponding educational activities in our country.At the same time,being restricted by the places,equipments and the factors of the course that need much hand-making,most of the STEM teachers are being trained in regional centralized training limitedly.And there are also a few education public lectures.But only a few people can get benefits from them.Therefore,based on the background,the author started a research on the development of online training about STEM teachers.Firstly,the thesis does research into Maker Education based on the analysis of the literature about the STEM curriculum,the teacher's online training and so on.The paper demonstrated the feasibility of online training for STEM teachers.Secondly,combined with the quantities of current learning platform and more complex status quo,the advantages of that IOS application release is unique and IOS system models less adaptability have been considered.Therefore we choose iTunes U as the implementation platform of the online STEM teachers training courses.The thesis lay equal stress on the process and the outcome.Taking into account the characteristics of online teacher training,the thesis analysis the statistics of the questionnaire survey to the teachers.We learnt the possibility and the effectiveness of online STEM teachers training through the introduction of the online training course and the observation of teachers who are having lessons.Finally,the thesis puts forward some useful experience to the future online training of STEM teachers in the maker education.
