With the continuous advancement of China's education reform,high school ideological and political teachers also need to change the teaching philosophy,to adapt to the requirements of the new curriculum.The new curriculum reform requires teachers to attach importance to the development potential of all aspects of students,respect for individual differences,which with the "Pygmalion effect" principle fit."Pygmalion effect" is the teacher based on the understanding of the status quo of students,the future performance of students have a reasonable expectation,and then in a variety of direct or indirect way to pass expectations.Students adjust their behavior to meet the teacher's expectations based on the various information communicated by the teacher,so that the initial expectation can be achieved,and when the expectation is fulfilled,the students will further strengthen their initial expectations,and form a virtuous circle.The use of the"Pygmalion effect" is conducive to the promotion of teachers to update the educational philosophy,to mobilize the emotional factors of students,to play their main role,to maximize the students to stimulate the learning potential,in line with the requirements of the new curriculum reform.The combination of the principle of "Pygmalion effect" and the teaching activities of high school ideological and political courses is of great significance to stimulate students' interest in ideological and political courses,improve students' ideological and political knowledge and help teachers achieve their teaching objectives.Therefore,this study has important practical significance to explore the application of "Pygmalion effect" in high school ideological and political course.This paper begins with a brief introduction to the background and significance of the research,the current research situation at home and abroad,the research ideas and methods,and the innovation and shortcomings of this research.Then,through the overview of the four aspects of the origin,function,process and principle of the "Pygmalion effect",and on the theoretical basis and significance of applying the "Pygmalion effect" in the teaching of ideological and political courses in senior high school,provides sufficient theoretical prerequisite for the use of the "Pygmalion effect" in the teaching of ideological and political courses in senior high school.Secondly,through the investigation and analysis of the application of the "Pygmalion effect" in the teaching of ideological and political courses in a school high school,it is found that there is a series of problems in the process of using the "Pygmalion effect" in the teaching of ideological and political courses,that the educational concept needs to be changed,the classroom atmosphere needs to be improved and the encouragement mode needs to be improved.Thirdly,according to the current problems,this paper proposes solutions in five angles,including of understanding the characteristics of today's high school students,playing the main role of teachers,creating a harmonious atmosphere of democracy and harmony,stimulating students'interest in learning and using the teaching method of encouraging and praising students.Finally,according to the theoretical research and countermeasure of using the "Pygmalion effect" in the teaching of ideological and political education in senior high school,this paper designs the teaching case and provides reference for the teachers of ideological and political teaching to use the "Pygmalion effect" in teaching.
