China is a country of poetry, the ancient poetry experienced thousands of years of test is timeless, which is one of the most precious cultural heritage. It can not only cultivate students'love for the mother language, improve the students' language literacy, but also help students to broaden their horizons, establish the correct values and cultivate the elegant aesthetic taste. The high school stage is the key stage of individual psychological growth and personality development.Ancient poetry teaching is a very important part in high school Chinese teaching. The textbook is the material for teachers and students to carry out teaching activities and is the most important teaching carrier and media.The study of the selection of textbook is conducive to the better teaching and can make the teaching process more suitable for the growth of students' personality and ability.The current high school language courses include compulsory courses and elective courses,with supporting the language of compulsory textbooks and elective materials. This paper focuses on the selection and teaching strategies of the part of "Ancient Chinese Poetry" in the compulsory and elective textbooks of the People's Education Edition. It mainly analyzes the teaching materials of "Ancient Chinese Poetry" in two textbooks, including the preparation of the system, analysis,knowledge system and practice design of four parts. At the same time, this article also compares the teaching edition with the Jiangsu edition, and analyzes the similarities and differences between the different versions of the textbooks in the compilation of ancient poetry. The preparation of textbooks is mainly in line with the ability of students to accept, for this purpose ,I did a survey in the two high school teachers and students on the acceptance, teaching status and views of selections of the selection of the ancient poetry in their PEP textbooks . Finally, based on the full text of the analysis, in the last part of the article on the preparation of textbooks related to the proposed immature suggestions and the corresponding teaching strategies of ancient poetry.
