Mathematics experiential teaching has been the research focus of the relevant researchers and teachers since the draft of mathematics curriculum standards was issued.However, it is rare in daily teaching, and some teachers even regard it as a brand-new teaching mode. Actually, as an effective way to help students promote fundamental activity experience, mathematics experiential teaching is a return to normalcy of education rather than a high-profile mode.This paper intends to study the development of mathematics experiential teaching in junior middle school from both the theory and practice perspective. First, clarify relevant concepts of mathematics experiential teaching through literature study and comb. Second, investigate junior high-school teachers' knowledge and receptivity of mathematics experience via questionnaires. Third, put forward some implementation strategies for mathematics experiential teaching. Finally, make analyses on specific teaching cases to prove the efficiency of those proposed strategies.The main conclusions drawn out of questionnaires are the following:(1) Most teachers agree with the steps of "intuition - abstraction - discovery -reasoning - evaluation", which is the structure of mathematics experience. But they still have some unilateral and backward recognition of the meaning, organization forms or value judgment of mathematics experience.(2) There are differences among the teachers with different seniority in terms of their cognition of mathematics experience, and the level of recognition increases with the growth of seniority. Nevertheless, no one is satisfied that he has a deeper understanding and teaching practice.(3) Many schools have the culture wall of math. Some have constructed specialized rooms for mathematics experience, but few of them is frequently used. And not a few schools do not have any relevant facility.Combined with the results of theory research and practice investigation, there are two principles and four strategies on implementing mathematics experiential teaching.The contents of courses we select to teach should not only accord with the actual requirement of students but also be based on the essence of mathematics. And the four teaching strategies are the following:(1) Creating real mathematical situations in order to promote intuition experience;(2) Posing enlightening mathematical problems in order to promote abstraction experience;(3) Carrying out mathematical experiments in order to promote inquiry experience;(4) Detecting and evaluating the learning gains directly in order to promote reflection experience.
