Multi-scale Analysis Of The Occupational Relationship Of Urban Residents

Along with the further development of the urbanization,Social structure transformation and the urban space reconstruction,the spatial structure between living and employment,has changed drastically.At the same time,a series of urban problems occurred in many cities,such as traffic jam,excessive commuter,the increase of PM 2.5.What connections are there among the relationship of workplace and residence,urban structure and the city problems.They have captured the attention of many researchers in recent years.This study is based on the sixth population census data,the second economic census data and data of the questionnaire-“On the separation of workplace and residence in Beijing in 2010”.Beijing,Guangzhou,Shanghai the three megacity cities,different streets in urban area and different districts of Beijing,the relationship of workplace and residence in those places above have been studied on three regional scales in order to find the main influencing factors.(1)Through the literature review of the relationship of workplace and residence,the thesis teases out the methods,such as Lorenz curve,the job-living separation index,geographically weighted regression.(2)The situation of workplace and residence in the three super-large cities is obtained by the method of Lorentz curve:the situation in Beijing is the most serious,followed by Guangzhou;Shanghai is the lightest.Through the comparison of Lorenz curve and commuting time in these three cities,it is concluded that urban structure is the most important factor influencing the relationship of workplace and residence.(3)By the method of the separation index,the separation conditions in each district are studied.The study finds that:there are existing significant differences.The separation of workplace and residence in the city and the faubourgs is more serious than that in outer suburban districts.The main influencing factor is that the layout of workplace and residence in Beijing is not reasonable.(4)This paper adopts geographically weighted regression to analyze the dimension of the separation of workplace and residence in the streets in Beijing.It is concluded that the development of city’ s economic will increase the separation.The bigger of the floating population,the less serious the separation is.The greater the proportion of man is there in the districts,the more advantages to relieve the situation of the workplace and residence.
