China is a poetic country.Poetry teaching is one of Chinese tradition.Also,as the New Curriculum Standard asked Chinese language teaching should pay more attation to aesthetic education.Poetry teaching is one of the best ways of aesthetic education.The poetry teaching is not only including ancient Chinese poetry,but also including modern Chinese poetry.These two are both very important.But now more and more people only realize they need learn ancient Chinese poetry ignoring modern Chinese poetry learning.I chose one high school and two middle schools as the object of investigation.I found there really are some problems in modern Chinese poetry teaching like modern Chinese poetry is few in teaching material,almost don't test in the exam,is not respected during teaching and so on,through questionnaire,literature researching,case analysising and interviewing.To solve these problems,especially the simple teaching method in modern Chinses poetry,I combined with the uniqueness of modern Chinese poetry,famous educators teaching cases and my own education practice finding a way.In this paper I adviced using “Three aesthetic principles” of Wen Yiduo in modern Chinese poetry teaching.Let students learn modern Chinese poetry from “the beauty of music,the beauty of drawing,the beauty of constructin”.In this way students can improve their aesthetic ability.I used this method in education practice and it played a effect.So I hope teachers in high school and middle school shouldn't ignore modern Chinese poetry and try using “Three aesthetic principles” in teaching.
