A new round of basic education curriculum reform in China has been in full swing,and the corresponding textbook is rewritten.This paper,which is under the guidance of the new curriculum standards,makes an investigation on how to make use of the high school mathematics textbook effectively.Firstly,this paper chooses two sets of textbooks.The first set of textbooks,which is the school textbooks approval by the National Committee for review by 2003,for full-time senior high school textbooks(Mathematics)(referred to as the “Mathematics textbook”).The second set of textbooks,which is approved by the national primary and secondary school textbook Committee approved in early 2004,for the general high school curriculum standard experimental textbook(referred to as the “mathematical experimental textbook”).This paper makes a comparative study of the two sets of textbooks from several angles,for example,the perspective of the selection of high school mathematics content,the arrangement of high school mathematics content,and the perspective of high school mathematics knowledge.Through the study found that“mathematics experimental textbook” helps to enhance students` mathematical literacy,stimulate students` interest in learning,cultivate students learning mathematics correct concept,this set of mathematics textbooks also reflects the basic,universal,developmental characteristics.Secondly,this paper makes a questionnaire that is based on the mid-term examination results of the second grade students in Guyuan M middle school,and then through the stratified sampling method,this paper selected three classes(an experimental class,a key class,an ordinary class)as the subjects of the questionnaire.At the same time,this paper has carried on the interview to some students and all the math teachers of the second grade group in this school,and combined with the researcher`s classroom observation,this paper makes an investigation on the present situation of the students` and teachers` use of the “mathematics experimental textbook”.Thirdly,this paper puts forward some strategies,which are combined with the problems found in the investigation of Guyuan M middle school,for teachers and students to use the “mathematics experimental textbook” effectively.The main strategies include the implementation of textbook content integration and modular structure,on the basis of students of different levels have different selection strategies using targeted textbooks,helping students to deepen their understanding of knowledge with the help of mind mapping,to strengthen the link between students and textbooks,guide students to strengthen the use of the development of curriculum resources.Finally,this paper summarizes and reflects on these strategies.The strategies proposed in this paper are pertinent,and it is necessary to do further research on the application of schools in different regions.
