Under the background of the integration of information technology and curriculum,the "Information Technology Application" column has been set up in the junior high school mathematics textbook of PEP.As an important part of the textbook,the "Information Technology Application" column provides a way to implement the new curriculum concept,a way to promote the change of teaching and learning methods,and an opportunity to cultivate students’ mathematical literacy and innovation ability.This paper analyses the quantity and distribution,textual characteristics,relationship with chapter content,status and function,and concrete content of the column "Information Technology Application" in junior high school mathematics textbook published by People’s Education Press.It draws the following conclusion: "Information Technology Application" accounts for one quarter of the column "Expansive Knowledge".The column can be divided into "Number and Algebra","Graphics and Geometry".Class,Statistics and Probability.Columns are reading,exploring,instrumental,applied,experiential and understanding.There are both horizontal expansion of chapter content and vertical expansion of chapter content in the setting of column content,or both,aiming at improving students’ mathematical literacy in many ways.In order to understand the current situation and reasons of the use of this column by junior middle school mathematics teachers and students,the questionnaire and interview methods were used to investigate some mathematics teachers in seven schools in Saihan District of Hohhot City and students in No.A Middle School of Hohhot City.From the fouraspects of teachers and students’ use of the column,their attitudes towards the column,the situation of software and hardware of the school,and the reasons for its implementation.Statistical analysis was carried out.The main conclusions are as follows: 64% of teachers and more than 50%of students think that the column "Information Technology Application" is very important.In the actual teaching process,teachers use the "information technology application" columns of number and algebra and graphics and geometry,accounting for 55.1% and 74.2% respectively,less statistical and probability columns;more than 51% of students have studied this column.From the perspective of teaching methods,nearly67% of teachers do not deal with this column in the classroom,about30% of teachers will use computer to explain,only less than 8% of teachers will guide students in the computer room;more than 70% of students hope that teachers can explain in the classroom or be guided by teachers in the computer room.The main reasons that affect teachers and students’ use of this column are: the attitude of leadership affects teachers’ implementation of this column;the single school evaluation mode causes teachers and students to pay little attention to this column;the old hardware facilities in some schools and the insufficient number of computer rooms affect the implementation of this column;the inadequate training of teachers’ software affects the implementation of this column;and some teachers lack information technology and curriculum.The consciousness of integration influences the implementation of this column;some teachers’ old educational concepts affect the implementation of this column;heavy work makes teachers have no time and energy to consider this column;students’ ignorance of software affects the learning of this column.In view of the above problems,this paper puts forward some suggestions to promote the use of columns: forming an information technology environment,renewing teachers’ educational concepts;strengthening the training of mathematics teachers to improve theirinformation literacy;school leaders attach importance to the integrated practice of information technology and mathematics curriculum;basing on reality,striving to achieve lifelong learning;strengthening the management and construction of information technology curriculum;Improve the school hardware equipment and do regular maintenance.Finally,this paper lists two specific cases to demonstrate how to use this column in teaching. |
