As the core and main constitute part of the curriculum resources,teaching materials on geography are an important medium,through which,teachers can conduct geography teaching,and students can grasp systematic and scientific knowledge on geography and cultivate their geographic skills.As the most vitalized and characteristic part of teaching materials on geography,image system plays an indispensable role in teachers' teaching and students' learning.Since the new curriculum reform,“multiple editions with one common aim” has replaced the previous “one edition with one syllabus”,and there are certain differences among different versions of geography teaching materials in image system.The image system of the compulsory modules in four existing versions of geography teaching materials in senior high school that are published by People's Education Press,Shandong Education Press,Hunan Education Press and China Cartographic Publishing House is taken as the object of study in this paper.Geographic images in these teaching materials are compared and analyzed,and the characteristics of the four versions of geography teaching materials in the quantity,density and distribution of images,as well as the proportion of different types of image and the mode of image presentation are achieved respectively.The senior high school-level geography teaching materials published by People's Education Press manifest a high density of images,and scientific and reasonable image distribution,and the title of some images needs to be further examined and studied,and the selection of cartoon needs to be deliberated;the senior high school-level geography teaching materials published by Shandong Education Press manifest relatively scientific and reasonable image distribution,and some images are in relatively small size and the embedded words are poorly coordinated;the senior high school-level geography teaching materials published by Hunan Education Press manifest balanced image distribution,and limited quantity and low density of images;the senior high school-level geographyteaching materials published China Cartographic Publishing House contain the most images in the highest density,and the size of images needs to be corrected,the proportion of the image distribution needs to be improved.In accordance with the principles of optimality of the image system of senior high school-level geography teaching materials in reflecting the new theory of curriculum reform,integrating the reasonable,scientific and amusing nature of image configuration,and presenting images in an appropriate quantity and scientific and reasonable mode,certain strategies of optimizing senior high school-level geography teaching materials are proposed based on the research results.The strategies can be divided into two aspects,namely,optimization of the image system itself and reinforced systematism of the image system.The optimization of the image system itself is mainly improved from three aspects,which are the selection,design and configuration,and serialization of geographic images.The reinforced systematism of the image system relies on the integration of the text and assignment system.
