In 2013,the Ministry of Education officially launched the work related to the curriculum revision of ordinary senior high schools.After summing up the empirical basis of China's general senior high school curriculum reform and international curriculum reform,general senior high school curriculum system with Chinese characteristics was constructed after reforming according to China's current national conditions and academic conditions.The geography curriculum reform mainly includes curriculum standard reform and textbook reform.In 2018,China issued the General Senior High School Geography Curriculum Standard(2017 Edition),and issued the Ordinary Senior High School Textbook of Geography in 2019 based on the new curriculum standard,including four editions of PEP,HNJY,SMP and LJDL.The surface system of the textbook includes a text system,an image system and an operating system.Among them,the image system is one of the characteristics of geography.Its design,optimization and implementation are well worth studying.Based on the theory of educational psychology,educational communication theory,system theory and core literacy of geography,this research used three research methods:literature research method,comparative analysis method and induction method.The first part of this research explained research background,research objectives and significance and research status in China and abroad.The second part elaborated the concept,classification and theory of image system,and sorted out the characteristics of image system of senior high school geography textbooks and the characteristics of image system of senior high school geography textbooks in the United States,Japan and Ireland from China's reform and opening up to 2004.The third part comprehensively compared the 2019 edition of image system of the Ordinary Senior High School Textbook of Geography in the editions of PEP,HNJY,SMP and LJDL,including the comparison of the overall structure number and distribution of images,comparison of image types,comparison of image organization and image expressiveness of new textbooks,so as to summarize the similarities and differences of the four editions of the image system of new senior high school geography textbooks.Combined with thecharacteristics of image system of senior high school geography textbooks and the characteristics of image system of senior high school geography textbooks in the United States,Japan and Ireland from China's reform and opening up to 2004,this paper evaluated the image system of new senior high school geography textbooks in China,and summarized the progress and improvement of new senior high school geography textbooks in China.The fourth part put forward suggestions for the optimization of image system of senior high school geography textbooks according to the above conclusions.The fifth part proposed the implementation suggestions of image system of senior high school geography textbooks,in order to provide an effective reference for senior high school geography teachers and normal university geography teachers to use the image system of new curriculum textbooks.
