This study begins with the questioning of the degree of student participation in modern university governance in China.With the wide application of governance theory in universities and the gradual students' rights consciousness improvement,the subjective status of students in universities has received many concerns.It has become an inevitable trend to participate in internal governance of universities.Students' participation in the internal governance mechanism of the university is the internal structure of the student's participation in the governance system and the process of its operation,the mode of participation and the forms of expression.The participation mechanism can effectively reflect the students' actual situation and effect of participating in internal governance.On the one hand,the protection of student's participation rights,the scope,level and effect of participation in governance are far from reaching the proper status.On the other hand,the participation degree of students in university governance is too low and the level of participation is shallow,which also runs counter to the modern university.The concept is not conducive to the advancement of the process of university governance system reform.Therefore,it is necessary to build a scientific and reasonable protection mechanism for students to participate in governance.This study is based on the analysis and analysis of documentary data and the inquiry and analysis of student participation status,based on the actual needs of the reform of the university management system,the interest appeals of the student body,and the legitimacy of the student participation.Students participate in the university.Relying on the social,institutional,and individual values of governance,it elaborates on the necessity of students' participation in internal governance.Then through the four dimensions of consciousness,motivation,behavior,and effect,analyze the practical dilemma of students' participation in internal governance of the university,find out the problems,and find out the common factors of different stakeholders.Finally,taking the goal of achieving effective participation in the whole process as a starting point,we will explore specific protection mechanisms,such as building student subject concepts,arranging appropriate institutional systems,and strengthening student training.From this side,it shows the active exploration and concrete practice of the reform of China's university management system,and tries to provide a useful reference for the students to participate in the guarantee mechanism of internal governance under the guidance of governance theory.
