The article is about the analysis and comparison of physical function index change,such as BMI value,cardio-pulmonary function and balance ability,among three groups of middle-aged and elderly people who play tai chi exercise,square dancing exercise and none-exercise,with document information method,experimental method,mathematical statistical method and questionnaire investigation method.The result data shows:1.Through the integration of health test scores of the two test groups and one reference group,we can learn that both tai chi and square dancing can improve the physical and mental health of the middle-aged and elderly people.2.By analyzing the data before and after the test,we can lean that square dancing has significant difference on BMI index of middle-aged and elderly people(P<0.05);3.By analyzing the cardio-pulmonary function of the three groups before and after the test,we can lean that long-term tai chi exercise has significant difference on cardio-pulmonary function of middle-aged and elderly people.After the test,some of the elderly people suffering high blood pressure have been somehow improved(P<0.05);4.By analyzing the of the three groups before and after the test,we can learn that tai chi exercise has significant difference on balance ability of middle-aged and elderly people(P<0.05);square dancing has significant difference on balance ability of middle-aged and elderly people(P<0.05);We conclude from above that:1.Long term tai chi exercise can effectively improve the health condition,heart rate index,blood pressure index and static balance ability of midde-aged and elderly people;2.Keeping reasonable square dancing can effectively enhance the health status,BMI value and dynamic balance ability of the middle-aged and elderly people.According to the results,various indexes of middle-aged and elderly people with exercise will be improved,while no significant changes of those without exercise.The purpose of this study is:to suggest more middle-aged and elderly people to choose sports items according to their own interest and health condition,especially the square dancing and tai chi exercise,which have positive effect on the corresponding physical function improvement;to improve the correct cognition of middle-aged and elderly people on fitness;to guide them for reasonable and correct fitness;to promote the health condition,so as to help them pursue higher quality of healthy life.
