Purpose of research:as social economy continually develops,people's standard of living has been greatly improved.Subjective well-being(SWB),an important standard to measure people's life quality and happiness levels,is concerned by more and more people.Nowadays,middle-aged women have various characters in their family or in the society.They are under pressure both mentally and physically,and in this period,they are more likely to feel lonely and unbalanced.Square dancing,a kind of group sports which is conducive to mental and physical health,exerts a subtle influence on this social group.Therefore,the paper aims to verify that whether square dancing is able to effectively improve the middle-aged women's subjective well-being through experiment.Research objectives and methods:a total of 90 women aged between 45 and 49 who are not accessible to professional training(not sport population)in Yihe,Qufu are chosen as objectives in the research.Generally,their SWB are lower than 71 – the national norm,and divided into: Experimental group(square dance exercise group,n =30),Control group 1(walking step exercise group,n = 30),Control group 2(exercise deficiency group,n = 30).The subjects were investigated by questionnaire,the total happiness scale-GWB test,and the experimental data were analyzed by one-way ANOVA,independent sample t test,paired test t test and chi-square test.(1)Based on a twelve-week experiment and data analysis,the conclusion is :Square dancing can improve middle-aged women's SWB,which is more obvious than brisk walking.(2)Based on the six dimensions of overall well-being data analysis before and after the experiment,the conclusion is that: Square dancing exercise can improve the middle-aged women's SWB level by boosting positive emotions.(3)Different people have different SWB in participating in square dancing,and the most obvious affect is shown on whether she is supported by her family.
