Positive discipline ability is a family education ability that every parent or guardian should possess.This ability has the characteristic of not spoiling or punishing children in the process of discipline so as to cultivate their ability of solving problems independently,their sense of responsibility and self-discipline in a firm,friendly atmosphere and make them learn social skills and life skills in a correct education environment.New Dongguan residents in urban villages refer to those residents in some primitive villages scattered in or around the urban area of Dongguan City,Guangdong Province.Because urban construction needs migrant workers to reside,the authorities and related research institutions call them “new Dongguan residents” out of respect for them.Because most new Dongguan residents have the dual characteristic of rural people and urban people,they will be confronted with unprecedented difficulties in the process of positive family discipline.Some wrong education concepts including “free-range parenting” and “stick parenting” are very common among new Dongguan residents in urban villages.As a result,their children could not grow up as healthy as urban people and what's more,wrong ways of discipline could make it easier for children to have the tendency of brutality and laziness.Therefore,it is urgent to improve the positive discipline ability of new Dongguan residents living in the urban villages of Dongguan.In addition,there are few domestic experimental studies of positive discipline system and new Dongguan residents are a special and typical social group in China,so research on how to improve positive family discipline is of great significance.By taking the case service of family education in Zhushan community as its research background,this thesis made practical arguments on improving the positive discipline ability of new Dongguan residents based on research achievements of positive discipline at home and abroad.It targetedly proposed problems existing in the family education of new Dongguan residents.By suiting methods to the situation,it proposed methods of positive family discipline,proved the possibility through analysis and discussion and made experimental studies through the intervention of social work so as to provide useful theories and practical results for the positive discipline of new Dongguan residents in urban villages of Dongguan.
