In recent years,the consistent decline in youth physique has aroused great attention from the country.To solve this problem,"For the 21st Century Education Revitalization Action Plan" from the Ministry of Education has clearly put forward the idea that" to shift the focus of school sports work to the rural and weak areas".The physical education in rural middle schools has the most fundamental effects for rural students in developing physical training awareness,forming healthy body,cultivating sports hobbies and enhancing athletic abilities.The roles it played cannot be replaced by other forms of education.This paper takes ten rural junior middle schools in Dengzhou City,Shandong province as the research objects,and makes a comprehensive investigation and analysis on the current physical education situations in rural junior middle schools in Dengzhou City,Shandong Province by means of literature,case interview,questionnaire survey and mathematical statistics analysis.The target has two aspects:one is to analyze the present situation of physical education class teaching and extracurricular physical activity in rural middle school of Dengzhou City.The second is to provide the basis for the teaching reform of education in rural middle school for the competent department of education in Dengzhou City.And the results manifest that:1.Rural middle school gyms in Dengzhou City are lagging behind,lacking of types of sports equipment,and the present ones outdated.Further construction and adjustment are needed in the planning of sports venues and the diversification of sports projects.2.The age echelon of teachers is reasonable,and the academic degrees structure is acceptable,but that of the professional title is unreasonable.Post-job training is grim while the scientific research abilities are relatively weak.3.The settings of P.E.curriculum can meet the national requirements,but the performance of school in the promotion of "P.E.curriculum and healthy standard" is underactive.The traditional idea that stress intellectual development and neglect physical development is still dominated,physical work hasn't been paid enough attention that it deserves.4.Most of the physical education teachers still have classes following the tradition way,one single form,boring and falling to try or use new teaching methods such as multimedia.It can't satisfied most students' needs.5.Majority of the students take part in after class sports activities with clear and correct motivations,but the accumulative extracurricular sports time every day is still slightly inadequate,and the actively exercising awareness is not yet formed.According to the research of physical education in rural middle school in Dengzhou City,the author reviews,sorts out and summarizes the problems in the process of implementing rural middle school physical education from two dimensions of reality and theory,putting forward targeted development strategies.References and evidences are provided to local education authorities in the decision-making of physical education teaching reform,to scientifically promote the development of rural middle school physical education.
