At present,technological competition and economic competition in the world,especially the talents competition,are becoming increasingly fierce.The strength of national power increasingly depends on the quality of the laborers.Training highquality talent must adhere to quality education.The 19 th Party Congress proposed,"for fully implement the party's education policy,we should implement high moral values establishment and people cultivation as the fundamental task of education and develop the quality education".With the further advancement of the new curriculum reform,the concept of inquiry-based teaching has become more and more popular.And more and more scholars and teachers have studied inquiry teaching from different perspectives.Introduce inquiry teaching into high school ideological and political teaching to form a teaching method based on inquiry,could help students to learn in inquiry,explore in learning,acquire knowledge and enhance their abilities in teacher-student interaction and student-student cooperation.On the basis of reviewing the relevant literature,this article first defines the meaning of inquiry teaching,and expounds its research significance and research methods,which will pave the way for subsequent discussion.Then it focuses on the unique significance of inquiry-based teaching method in the ideological and political disciplines of senior middle school students.It is also show the great importance for cultivating students' interest in learning,problem awareness,communication skills and rational spirit.However,when arranging the literature,it was found that not all the content of high school ideological and political teaching materials is suitable for inquiry teaching.Therefore,after analyzing the theoretical basis and teaching materials of inquiry-based teaching,the three characteristics that a teaching material suitable for using inquiry-based teaching should inspire students interest,develop students ability,and moderate students learn.According to the theory and characteristics,the contents of the teaching materials for the compulsory teaching materials of the People's Education Press are suitable for inquiry teaching.In the end,the implementation steps of inquiry teaching in high school ideological and political classes are introduced.
