Improving The Structure Of IT-BPO In The Philippines

The world is gradually becoming very small and many companies can now be found outside their home countries but there was once a time when companies did all their work by themselves in their respective countries.Leading this transformation is Information Technology Business Process Outsourcing(IT-BPO),which now serves as a bridge between companies and developing countries especially the Philippines due to low operating costs and abundance of English speakers.In this competitive world where every resources is essential due to scarcity,many companies delegate a number of their services to a third-party IT-BPO companies to reduces expenses and get ahead of competitors.This study looks into individual sectors that composed the IT-BPO in the Philippines and how to optimize their presence in order to stimulate the national economy.The Philippine Input-Output table matrix is used as a gauge to measure the competitiveness of IT-BPO to the rest of the sectors of economy.IT-BPO’s rapid growth also comes with many challenges that need to be addressed,such as high costs and inferior facilities,in order to increase growth and stability ofIT-BPO in the Philippines.The Input-Output study on IT-BPO shows that IT-BPO is not a vital sector in invigorating the other sectors of the national economy but indirectly helps the economy due to many employees with salaries above minimum wage.
