With the continuous progress of era, technology development plays a very important role in enterprise growth. The enterprise only select suitable technology development strategy in the different stages of technology life cycle, can make it last long in this competitive society. Therefore, the choice of technology development strategic has great significance and profound impact to the survival and development of the enterprise.Due to the special nanometer structure and excellent physical and chemical properties that shows great application potential, the graphene has raised high attention of the scientific community and industry since 2004 when it was found for the first time. Many countries take preparation and application technology of graphene as the direction of a long-term and key technology development strategy direction. Samsung paid high attention to this, and has applied patents related to graphene technology. In April 2014, Samsung made breakthrough in graphene preparation, which is likely to make Samsung in the leading position in this field.In this article, taking method for manufacturing graphene of Samsung as an example, using HIT, excel, Loglet lab2 software tools, combining patent data index with technology life cycle analysis to research the effect of technology life cycle on enterprise technology development strategy. Firstly, the literature that related to technology life cycle, enterprise technology development strategy and the effect of technology life cycle on enterprise technology development strategy has been reviewed. Secondly, the theoretical analysis of technology life cycle and enterprise technology development strategy has been carried on, discussing the characteristics of technology life cycle in different stages, the connotation and types of enterprise technology development strategy, the content and the performance of enterprise technology development strategy in different stages of the technology life cycle respectively. Thirdly, use patent data to describe the graphene preparation development of Samsung, divide the technology life cycle stages and analyze the technology development strategy of Samsung in the field of graphene preparation. Then elaborate the technology development strategy of Samsung in embryonic stage and growth stage, predict its mature stage and decline stage, also providing some advices of technical development strategy for Samsung. Finally, some advices for graphene industry technical development of China are provided based on the analysis above.
