with the development of the knowledge-based economy, tobacco companies' demand for qualified personnel continue to increase, and human resource becomes an important strategic resource for the survival and development of companies. Career development and planning, as an important link in human resource management, is meaningful for both individual employee and the companies. For the individual employee, the career development and planning provide fair job opportunities for employees, help each employee to achieve self-worth, and improve staff enthusiasm at work. For the company, career development and planning can help company to understand the needs and capabilities of individual employee, make reasonable use of the human resource support, enhance the competitiveness of the companies, and effectively synchronize the goals for both the companies and the employees. This is important for the sustainable development of the companies.Based on some related theories of career path, this paper proposes the research thinking and methods. First of all, by introducing and analyzing the current situation of human resources of G Tobacco Factory, it is found that the career management had experienced some problems, and the cause for these problems were analyzed and identified. Secondly, based on above analysis results, this paper not only discusses position optimization, but also designs the career paths for three work classes at G Tobacco Factory: the production operation class, the technology business class, the management class which establishes the career path in vertical development and horizontal development, and designs a suitable career development and planning model of G Tobacco Factory. Finally, this paper proposes some supporting measures for the successful implement of the model.This paper provides an integrated design idea and implement countermeasure about career development and planning. It is expected to provide references, as well as theoretical and practical guidance for other companies to improve employees career management in order to help solve the problem of human resources at G Tobacco Factory.
