The limited nature of water resources and the cyclical nature of the renewable water resources in any region lead to the socio-economic scale supported by water resources have a threshold value,which is the upper limit of the water resources carrying capacity.Nowadays,the development of many cities and regions is restricted by water resources because of the excessive consumption of water resources and extensive mode of development.The industrial structure is an important link to coordinate the resources,environment and economic society,and its optimization and upgrading is an important way to improve the water resources carrying capacity.Under such background,it is of great practical significance to discuss how to adjust the industrial structure and development model,to realize the optimization of water resources and to make the water resources play the most important economic and ecological value.This paper summarizes the research background and research status of water resources supporting capacity and optimization of industrial structure,discusses the existing problems of the current research on water resources carrying capacity and future research direction,pointed out the close relationship between the industrial structure and the water resources carrying capacity.It has important practical significance to study on qualitative and quantitative analysis and practical application of the relationship between the two.The paper selects the Songhuajiang River basin as the study area,using reverse calculation method to calculate the available quantity of water resources of the Songhuajiang River basin and three sub basins,and base on that calculate all kinds of water demand in 2030 using the conventional trend method and quota area method.Finally gets the water resources carrying capacity of river basin.The largest scale of social economy in 2030 that river basin can be carried for 737.77 billion yuan,the limit of population carrying is 72.66 million;Use the water resources carrying capacity calculation results for the parameters,construct a multi-objective optimization model,to optimize the industrial structure in 2030 of Songhuajiang River basin,and puts forward some suggestions on the overall layout of development and the the main target of future development of the three industries.
