As a great agricultural country with abundant agricultural resources,China has occupyed the indispensable status in international agricultural trade.Maize has been the main agricultural products in Chinese export trade,and the production of which is secondary largest in china,only smaller than wheat.Since 2009,however,the pattern of Chinese maize export and import trade has changed greatly,china became a net importer of maize.what’s more,the quantity of maize export reduced sharply while that of maize import increased greatly.This phenominion,which may influence the agricultural security of china,has raised great attention of researchers related.This article mainly focuses on the changes of the supplyment and demand of maize in china and explore the answer for the change in export and import trade of chinese maize.Then analyse the international market of Chinese maize as well as the influence factors of the current patterm,thus provide some corresponding policy recommendations.The article will be divided into five parts to discuss the problem.The first part starts from the significance and the background of the research,then lists the research which has done by now about the selecting topic.The target,methods,innovation and the deficiency are given at the last of the part.The second part lists the mainly use of maize,then compares the maize supply countries in the production situation and comparative advantage,thus presents the situation of Chinese maize supply and estimates the features and the space for advance of the three majoy industies of maize.After which we can conclude the influence factors of the supply and demand of maize.the third part introduces the international market of Chinese maize.Through analyzing the pattern and structure of the maize trade,the distribution of Chinese maize importer and exporter,the change in the quantity of maize trade as well as the features of privinces that import or export maize are summarized.At the same time,the international market share,revealed comparative advantage index and trade competitiveness index are given to analyze the the international competitiveness of Chinese maize.From the perspective of theoretical analysis and empirical research,the forth part studies the demand,price,the international market as well as the related policy of rhe maize,which may affect the maize export and import trade.the last part is set as a conclusion of the whole article,recommendations for the advancement of Chinese maize trade are given as well.From the research,it’s not hard to find that the supply of maize fails balance the incressing number of the maize demand in china,which results from the limits of farmland and the decrease of the profits of maize planting.However,demand of maize for industry and feed is so urgent,which has made Chinese a net importer of maize.The production,the international price and related subsidy will definitely promote the export of Chinese maize.On the contrary,high national price,large yuan’s exchange rate and export restructions may hinder the maize export.As a conclusion,we must encourage the trade surplus,improve the production,stablize the price,set out proper trade policy of maize as well as optimize the strategy of Chinese maize export and imort trade.
