In October 2010,high-end equipment manufacturing industry was listed as a national strategic emerging industry,and being developed as a focal point in constructing the modern powerful industrialized countries.According to the national strategic plan,China will achieve Socialism modernization practically in the middle of the twenty-first century.By then,the entire national economy will form a complete system,in the whole system,the equipment manufacturing industry,especially the high-end equipment manufacturing industry as the country key industry must have a strong international competitiveness,and act as a powerful support for the entire national economy developing healthily and the State Economic security.Fujian Province,cooperating with the national strategic deployment actively and combining with the actual situation of the province,has promulgated a number of layouts and Implementation plans which relating to the development of high-end equipment manufacturing industry closely.Coordinating with the effort of the members of the industry,high-end equipment manufacturing industry in Fujian has achieved great development from a low starting point.As a typical technology intensive industry,launching R&D activities reasonably and effectively plays a decisive role in improving the industrial performance and enhancing the international competitiveness of Fujian high-end equipment manufacturing industry.Therefore,investigating the impact of R&D input on Fujian high-end equipment manufacturing industry performance status,and putting forward the improving suggestions according to the existing problems has significant meaning in promoting the development of high-end equipment manufacturing industry in Fujian continually and healthily.Firstly,by analyzing the theory of R&D input and technology innovation and the theory of industrial performance find theoretical support for this paper.Combining with the reaserch of the predecessors and the characteristics of the industry,this paper propose R&D input quantity,R&D input intensity,structure of R&D input and R&D input configuration status four dimensions which could be used in analyzing the the impact of R&D input on the industrial performance of Fujian high-end equipment manufacturing industry.Combining the domestic and foreign scholars' researchs whihc about R&D input and industial performence of high-end equipment manufacturing industry and the similar industries from t with the present situation and characteristics of Fujian high-end equipment manufacturing industry construct the index system of R&D input and the industrial performance of Fujian high-end manufacturing industry.Afterward,using the BCC model in data envelopment analysis(DEA)which selected by analyzing and comparing with others investigate the impact of R&D input on Fujian high-end equipment manufacturing industry's performance in the static state,and using the DEA-Malmquist index model investigate the impact of R&D input on Fujian high-end equipment manufacturing industry's performance in the dynamic state.Finally,according to the result of the empirical analysis put forward suggestions for enhancing the industrial performance of Fujian high-end equipment manufacturing industry from the R&D input perspective,including the formulation of encouraging policies,establishing R&D input mechanism,adjusting the R&D input structure legitimately,enhancing the ability of configuring the R&D resources,optimizing the industrial structure and deepening the cooperation of the government,industry,university and research organization.At the same time,this paper puts forward the conclusions,limitations of the study and the prospects for future research,which may provide valuable reference for other scholars to carry out further research about the technological innovation activities of high-end equipment manufacturing industry.
