Automobile industry is a capital-intensive and technology-intensive industry.It has high correlation with related industries and can boost domestic consumption dramatically,which makes it a major industry in our national economy.The main features of automobile R&D are long duration,high investment,poor planning and improper process control.They usually result in delay and unnecessary waste.To make automobile R&D finished in time and qualitatively,there need to be a reasonable and controllable R&D plan for the entire car,which supposed to be the key success factor.This paper mainly uses schedule management theory to analyze the automobile R&D process and,furthermore,optimize the process.Though project management theory has been imported for decades,the usage and promotion in automobile industry is highly diverse.Facing the fierce market competition,how to improve efficiency with the help of project management theory comes to be a huge task for managers in automobile industry to carry.This paper analyzes R&D project A in L automobile company on the basis of modern schedule management theory.It mainly uses WBS,PERT and CPM to analyze the R&D process.Meanwhile,considering the human resource smoothing,it optimizes the project plan to make it more reasonable and controllable.Finally,it evaluates the optimization effect with the help of AHP and quantitative calculation.This paper has a positive impact on reducing R&D cost for automobile industry and contributes a lot to the practice in this industry for project management theory.
