It's an article about the relationship between the Efficiency of Technological Innovation and TFP of Chinese manufacturing industry.Nowadays,China is in an important development period,during which time opportunities and challenges coexist.Chinese economic,which has experienced an hypervelocity,unbalanced,high input and low efficiency development model,is turning to "New Normal" now.According to"New Normal" requirement,our economic structure needs a change.As the lifeline of Chinese economic and the symbol of National strength,there is no doubt that manufacturing industry plays an important role during the transition period.Total factor productivity(TFP),whose increment is beneficial to manufacturing as well as economic transition,is an important index to measure enterprise efficiency.As a hotspot,TFP has got wide attention,and the Efficiency of Technological Innovation(ETI)is an important factor who influents TFP and deserved to be studied.Joseph Schumpeter(1912)propose innovation theory for the first time,he explains the result of economic growth in a new path of innovation perspective.After Schumpeter,following the researches of Harold(1936),Domar(1936),Solow(1956),Rohmer(1986),Lucas(1988)and so on,the questions such as economic growth and cycle had got thorough studies,and technological innovation's contribution is gradually revealing and becoming a key economic research object.We can refine a complete theories of technological innovation from the existing literature.Schumpeter's theoretical framework can explain economic growth,we can also use it to explain the growth of Chinese manufacturing industry's TFP.Combined the theoretical framework and China's past development experience,it's easy to find that institutional change and technological innovation are all the important results of TFP's growth.Institutional change has a great contribution to TFP during the initial stage of Reform and Opening-up,well,economic reform nearby period rely much more on technological innovation.It's no doubt that technological innovation can bring a more far-reaching impact to economic growth,although they all make simulate TFP's increment.So study China manufacturing industry's TFP in the perspective of technological innovation percent stage is feasible,it can help us make out which development stage we are in now,and has certain of theory and realistic.One of the purposes of this article is to explore the technological innovation's influence and contribution to TFP.Order to achieve this purpose,I choose to using the panel data of 313 Chinese administrative region from 2004 to 2014.An important step is to calculate the TFP and NTI of each administrative region,so I use the Data Envelopment Analysis(DEA)to make it.It shows that,ETI,which I adopt as a surrogate variable of the level of technological innovation,shows a positive influence to TFP,each 1%growth of ETI can bring about 0.066%'s growth of TFP of our manufacturing industries,well,the output of the technological innovation also has an positive impact,which can bring about 0.07%'s TFP growth with each 1%growth.ETI's influence shows out in several aspects,and it also shows a rising trend with time,however,now stage,ETI's absolute contribution to the TFP is still low,which does not reach our expect,so now,our Chinese economic growth model is still relying on factors input model.During the period of deepening reform,we should note that our innovation level is not enough now,so we out to make innovation as a key direction during this period and try making innovation driven model as our main economic growth model in the near future.The followings are the structure of this article:Chapter 1 is the introduction means to point out the background and meaning of this article.In this chapter,I explain the key concepts,technology roadmap,innovation as well as the shortcoming of the article.Chapter 2 is the summary of the correlation theory and literature.First part is to introduce the origin of innovation theory and related literature.Second part introduces the literature at home and abroad about the method,and do some brief introduction about DEA.Chapter 3 is the theoretical analysis part of this article,mainly analysis the action mechanism,causal relationship and the contribution rate between ETI and TFP,and this chapter is also a normative analysis.Chapter 4 is the empirical analysis part,which means to verify the theory above,is also an exploration process.Firstly,I make the explain about the analysis step,regression model's selection and the control variables;Secondly,shows the results,and Finally,get the conclusions and do some guesses.Chapter 5 is the end,I do a summary of the article and give some related policy suggestions,as well as the concluding remarks.
