Research On Impact Of The Intercity Railway On The Spatial Structure Of Regional Tourism In Wuhan Metropolitan Area

The Network Plan for Wuhan metropolitan area Intercity Railway was approved by the Chinese government in 2009.Wuhan as its core,it consists of 8 railway lines,spreading in all directions and connected with circles.With the updating of the economy system,tourism is becoming a new force in the development of our economy,among which the changes in the intercity transportation,especially the intercity high speed railway,are the key factors to affect the development of the region tourism distribution structure.As a result,the problem about how the intercity railway affects the tourism distribution structure,and how the tourism can make the most of the resource of intercity railway to have a better cooperation and development for region tourism has become a concern of the academia.This essay mainly studies what influence the intercity railway has on the tourism distribution structure in Wuhan metropolitan area.It includes three sub problems:First,whether the opening of the intercity railway will have an effect on the tourism distribution structure;second,how the intercity railway affects the tourism distribution structure in Wuhan metropolitan area;third,under the mechanism of the intercity railway,how the tourism distribution structure in Wuhan metropolitan area will develop.The objects of this essay are intercity railway and the tourism distribution structure in Wuhan metropolitan area,using the methods of with and without comparison method,theoretical analysis method,social network analysis method,mathematical statistics analysis method,and so on.In general,the conclusion of the essay are mainly as follows:First,the opening of the intercity railway influence the tourism distribution structure by bringing a better geographical condition in destination,cut down the cost of the transportation,and saving the travel time.And the results of the influence are as follows:the radius of the tourism-generating market is expending,the frequency of tourism and the number of the tourists is increasing,the move of the industrial factors in the region has improved as well.Moreover,the intercity railway shortens the time on travel,directly increasing the possibility of reachability in the region.A larger tourism-generating radius,a greater number of tourists and a faster move between the industrial factors,all these factors will force the destination to better its facilities for tourist resources.Through the interaction in tourism,the destination and the tourism-generating region are updating and becoming better to the best configuration.While transportation and the economic flow which convey information,material,tourists and other factors are fully circulating,the connection of the tourism economy in the region is strengthened.Second,depending on some related statistics of social network analysis method,the essay chooses a time from one year before the opening of the intercity railway to the year 2016 to test the change of the features in tourism distribution structure in Wuhan metropolitan area.The conclusion is drawn as follows:the compactness of the tourism economic net in Wuhan metropolitan area is still at a low level,but with the opening of the intercity railway,it has become stronger and stronger;the gradation of the tourism distribution structure in Wuhan metropolitan area is obvious,and as Wuhan is located in the center of the nation,the diffusing effect brought by the intercity railway to Wuhan metropolitan area is larger than the polar effect,and so the unbalanced situation in the tourism development in Wuhan metropolitan area has been improved.
