Research On The Development Status And Influencing Factors Of Hainan Coconut Processing Industry

Coconut as a unique tropical fruit in Hainan,Hainan Province should take this advantage and create more economic value.In recent years, promoted by the policy of "international tourism island",there are strong demand of tourism and coconut products marketing in Hainan. Coconut industry is rapidly developing and becoming a well-known industry under that background in Hainan. It has played an important role in solving the employment of the labor force, increasing the fiscal revenue and promoting the construction of the new countryside. Coconut has great value of development and utilization, but there are some problems in coconut industry,such as simple products and mutual imitation between products.There are more than 400 coconut processing enterprises in Hainan, but most of the small and medium-sized enterprises are still in the early processing of the coconut on the technical level. Many of the coconut processing enterprises is in low developmenting rates, even stagnanting.This paper chooses Hainan Yeshu group as the research object, based on agricultural industrialization theory, comparative advantage theory and scale economy theory, analyzing the influencing factors of the development of Hainan coconut processing industry.Then introduce the present situation of coconut production in Hainan and the development status of the processing industry.Through the qualitative analysis, the influencing factors on the development of Hainan coconut processing industry are studied from the aspects of raw materials, marketing supply and demand, policy support, production technology and so on. Through the questionnaire on the Yeshu group, the collected data are analyzed by using SPSS software for principal component analysis. Finally, according to the results of the study,put forward suggestions on the development of the coconut processing industry.The conclusions:1.There are two main factors affecting the development of Hainan coconut processing industry:(1) Marketing factors, including marketing supply and demand, planting and raw materials imports costs. (2) Environment factors, including government policy support, scientific and technological innovation and capital investment.2.Suggestions:(1) Improve the situation of coconut cultivation,the output of the coconut in Hainan,and reduce the foreign coconut imports costs; (2) Increase scientific research investment, develope more varieties of coconut products to meet marketing demands, and expand marketing shares; (3) Introduce production equipment, improve production efficiency, reduce production costs and improve enterprise profits; (4)The government should offer appropriate preferential policies, appropriate subsidies for planting and processing enterprises, and create a good environment for industrial development.
