A Comparative Study Of The Social Stratification In Scientific Community Between China And America

Scientific community is a group composed of a number of scientific worker.It has its own scientific norms and a definite standard system.Scientists are the subject of Sci-Tech activities.Since scientific community is a small society,in Sci-Tech activities scientists not only play the role of science but also play the role of society.Scientific community not only affects the social and technological development,and also to some extent under the influence of various social factors,which will inevitably lead to differences and inequalities in scientific activity and will resulted in formation of stratification.Scientific community is a highly stratified society.The standard of social stratification system of scientific community in our country is mainly according to the quality and quantity of scientific research achievements,scientific awards and professional position of scientists.In addition,factors from scientists themselves and society also affects the position which scientists possessed in social stratification in science system.What's more,scientist's position is also affected by its scientific ability,family,school education,educational background,degree and so on.Therefore,by comparing the Sino-American scientific social stratification,the author found that the main factors of restricting the scientific development of our country and the reasonable scientific social stratification is inadequate funding,unreasonable Sci-Tech personnel distribution,lacking of leading scientists,slowly training of young scientists,officer's standard consciousness in scientific community,lacking of world-class level universities and other issues.All the above problems serious influence and restricts the development of science in our country.Finally,the author put forward a series solution to improve the development of science ans technology,including the increasing scientific research investment,giving full play to the market and planning adjusting methods,optimizing the configuration of high-tech talent and age structure in technology elite team,training young scientists,perfecting the incentive mechanism of scientists,stimulating scientist spirit of innovation,increasing investment in education and constructing a world-class level of university and other ideas to build a set of scientific social stratification structure system which is suitable to China's national conditions and is conducive to the further development of science in our country.
