The Influence Of Entrepreneurial Resource Integration On New Venture Performance:The Mediating Role Of Ambidextrous Competence

Under the background of transitional economy,entrepreneurship plays an important role in speeding up the process of marketization and promoting the transformation and upgrading of industrial structure.How to realize the growth of new start-ups becomes a common concern of academia and entrepreneurs.However,it is difficult for start-ups to acquire sufficient resources,and this "new flaw" hinders the development of the business.The study found that the effective integration of resources to help new enterprises to overcome resource constraints,improve business performance.Therefore,the integration of resources on the impact of corporate performance is a hot academic research.However,the existing literature has come up with inconsistent findings.While some studies suggest that resource integration can maximize the use of resources through collaborative resources,thereby promoting the performance of new enterprises to improve,other studies suggest that if the start-up companies put less material and human resources,then the integration of resources may even lead to reduced business performance.The reasons for the inconsistency in the relationship between the integration of entrepreneurial resources and the performance of start-ups are related to the different development of the conception of integration of entrepreneurial resources.In addition,the mechanism of how entrepreneurial resource integration affects the performance of start-up firms is unclear.Based on this,this paper studies the connotation of entrepreneurial resource integration from the perspective of entrepreneurial decision logic,and reveals the mediating role of duality capability in the relationship between entrepreneurial resource integration and the performance of new venture.Based on the theory of resource management and effect reasoning,this paper studies:(1)the impact of entrepreneurial resource integration(causation-based resource integration and effectuation-based resource integration)on the performance of start-up enterprises,(2)the impact of dualistic capacity(exploration and exploitation)on the performance of new firms,(3)the mediating role of dualistic capacity(exploration and exploitation)in the relationship between entrepreneurial resource integration and the performance of new firms.Through empirical analysis of factor analysis,correlation analysis,multiple linear regression and structural equation modeling of 300 valid questionnaires collected in Hangzhou and other areas.The results show that:(1)the causation-based resource integration and the effectuation-based resource integration have positive effects on the performance of the startup enterprises;(2)both the exploration ability and the exploitation ability have positive effects on the performance of the start-up enterprises;(3)exploratory ability and exploitation ability have the mediating effect on the relationship between the expected returns and competition analysis of causation-based resource integration and the performance of start-ups;(4)exploratory ability and exploitation ability play an intermediary role in thethe relationship between utilizationcontingency and means orientation of effectuation-based resource integration and the performance of start-up enterprises.The paper not only contributes to the research of resource integration and effectuation,but also has some guiding value for entrepreneurship practice:(1)Analyze the effect of causation-based resource integration and effectuation-based resourceintegration on the performance of start-up firms,revealing the different mechanisms of entrepreneurial resource integration on the performance of new ventures.(2)Analyze the mediating role of duality capability(exploration ability and exploitation ability)in the relationship between entrepreneurial resource integration and the performance of start-up enterprises,and reveal the different paths of the two ways of entrepreneurial resource integration on new venture performance.(3)It is of practical significance to study how entrepreneurs can integrate entrepreneurial resources and improve the performance of new enterprises through different ways of entrepreneurial resource integration.
