In recent years,with the rapid development of Information Technology,Network,the Third party payment platform's establishment,the E-commerce volume's rise this all extremely promote the development of China's express industry.According to the State Post Bureau statistics,China's express delivery business become the world's No.1 in 2014 who surpassed the United States.And 2016 China's express delivery business' s volume is 13.38 billion,keep an annual growth of more than 45% for 6 consecutive years.This shows that the express industry is in a period of rapid development,but there are also many problems,more prominent problem is the low price competition to lead to the "price war." Many private enterprises in order to snatch market share,to provide courier services less than the cost of the price,the reason is that the express market competition is chaotic,the quality of service is wishing to be improved,the courier companies is do not have a good business philosophy,and the single business model makes the competition to excess.In the theory of industrial organization,product differentiation is not only an important factor to determine the market structure,but also a competitive advantage to obtain nonprice competition means in the market enterprises,so,effective product differentiation can not only promote the orderly evolution of the market structure,but also can promote the healthy and stable development of the whole industry.In this paper,we use of industrial organization theory to discuss the development of China's express delivery industry,to find the driving force to promote China's express delivery industry market structure evolution from the perspective of differentiated competition.According to the development course of developed countries,the development of mature express market should be expressed as oligopoly structure.In this paper,we establish a simple duopoly model,which is considered not to introduce differentiated competition and introduce differentiated competition,how the competition in the market and analyze the price and output obtained at the time of equilibrium,and explain the impact of differentiated competition on market structure and market performance.Then,according to the current low-cost competition,this paper analyzes the current situation of the development of China's express industry and briefly introduces the development model of foreign express industry and the characteristics of international express giants,and puts forward some countermeasures and suggestions to China's express delivery industry and express delivery enterprises.The conclusion of this paper is that in the market of homogeneous products or services,enterprises can take different means of competition,to develop higher than the marginal cost of the price,so as to obtain positive economic profits.At the same time,differentiated competition can guarantee the effectiveness of market competition,lowcost competition is no longer suitable for the development of a stable courier industry,differentiated competition is promote the courier industry more stable and more development.At the macro level,the government should encourage courier companies to accelerate the pace of acquisition and integration,to further improve the postal law,to relax the scope of business,to express a broader business development space.At the industry level,express delivery industry should actively promote the merger between mergers and acquisitions,improve market concentration,and thus improve the utilization of resources.At the micro level,courier companies should increase investment in information technology,network construction,through the provision of differentiated courier services to meet the diverse and personalized needs of customers.The shortcoming of this paper is the lack of relevant data makes this paper lacks of empirical analysis,and can't provide a more convincing reality basis.
