The Food Security Of Egypt

Food is closely related to the survival and development of every country,and it also play a vital role in the stability of a country's regime.As early as the Second World War,the United States had realized the importance of food and implemented the power politics by food.With the intensification of the international competition,the role of food has became increasingly prominent,which lead to every country has began to put emphasize on the importance of food security and tried their best to safeguard food sovereignty.Egypt has experienced a transformation from food self-sufficiency to food depend on import absolutely,its food security has a long history.With the country development of industrialization and urbanization,the problems of population expansion,food highly demand,shortage of arable land and water resources limited are gradually exposed in Egypt,which exacerbates the burden of food supply.On the basis of analyzing the causes of Egyptian food security,this paper analyzes the measures of Egypt.The first chapter discusses the performance of Egyptian food security.According to the manifestation of food security,the Egypt's performance mainly include three aspects:the contradiction between supply and demand of food,highly dependent on import and the high food price.Under the influence of the three factors,Egypt's current food situation is not optimistic.The second chapter analyzes the causes of Egyptian food security.With the country developing,the disadvantages of natural conditions are becoming more and more prominent.In addition,the inducement of national policy,the disadvantages of urbanization and the limitation of technology have also aggravated the food crisis in Egypt.The last chapter is about the analyzation of coping food security measures.Egypt has been aware of the main constraints of food problem,although all the measures have had a little affection on food security in a view of overall point,the problem still doesn't have a fundamental solution.Food security remains a problem that the Egypt will solve in the future.
