In recent years, China’s grain production despite continuous "Decade added," butsubstantial annual increase in food imports, food self-sufficiency rate continues todecline, the security situation is not optimistic. At present, China is in a period ofaccelerated development of urbanization, an important impact on the level ofurbanization will improve food production and consumer demand, our food securitysituation has led to new changes. In this paper, the theory of regional development and urbanization developmenttheory, theory and the problem of food security as the foundation, elaborated thedevelopment present situation and the goal of China’s urbanization, and China’s grainproduction, consumption, import grain safety, analysis of grain supply and demandissues of urbanization, the change of cultivated land in Urbanization Impact on foodsecurity. Then, combined with the analysis before, do the development trend andforecast the development trend of food security in the long town, focuses on therelationship between urbanization and food security, through the logic relationshipanalysis to identify the impact of the two development of the core factors of cultivatedland and population, logical expression is established, and further analysis of therelationship between the number of population urbanization and, the cultivated land, the multiple regression analysis model is established, on the relationship betweenurbanization and food security to do a more scientific, comprehensive statement. Theresults show that, is a long-term China’s urbanization rate has continued to rise, has agreat yield potential of grain production in China, with an average annual growth ratemay be maintained at about1.1%, while the grain demand will continue to grow, butthe grain supply and demand in the overall pattern of relatively loose. The two is thedevelopment of urbanization pose a threat to the total grain output, but if we cancontrol the land area and population transfer quantity change, then the two canachieve coordinated development. Three is found between changes in cultivated landand grain production, must adhere to the red land and food production priority, inorder to ensure grain output continued to grow, and should focus on enhancing the quality of cultivated land. Finally, according to the planning of the central economic work conference in2013will be included in the national food security strategic priority and therequirements of the national model town (2014-2020) instructions, put forwardspecific measures to ensure food security in China in the new period, the newurbanization should promote the sustained and healthy development, straighten outthe land market and the transfer of population urbanization in order, to lay thefoundation for ensuring food security; the need to protect arable land resources, improve cultivated land quality level, to provide resources to ensure sustainable foodproduction; the third is the appropriate use of the international market, adjust surplusand deficiency, to meet domestic market supply and demand balance; the fourth is theimportance of science and technology in improving grain yield in the role, improveagricultural service system of agriculture science and technology; the fifth is thecapital structure of scientific allocation of grain processing industry; the six is thereasonable adjustment of grain production support policy, increase the peasants’enthusiasm for production.
