The Influence Factors And Decision-making Mechanism Of Farmers' Technology Adoption In Farmers' Professional Cooperatives

Agricultural science and technology is the key factor and the important measure to realize the goal of agricultural modernization of our country.According to statistics,there are more than 7000 agricultural technological achievements every year,but the conversion rates of agricultural technological achievements are only 30%-40%,and the large-scale application rates of agricultural technology are less than 20%truly.A large number of technological achievements have been shelved,which mainly due to the "top-down" technology promotion mode is not suitable with farmers' demands,and it directly led to the low adoption rates of agricultural technology,which ultimately resulted in the difficult of full application and large-scale promotion in agricultural production practice.Therefore,the research of farmers'technology adoption behavior is of great significance for the agricultural technology promotion and the realization of agricultural modernization from the perspective of"bottom-up".At present,for technology adoption behavior,domestic scholars have many researches based on foreign experiences and domestic conditions.but the academic circle tended to take the farmers as the same behavior object,however,they have paid little attention to the farmers that took a part in the farmers' professional cooperatives and other organizations.For that reason,this paper took:Shaanxi Zhouzhi Changyang Fruit professional cooperatives as the case,and firstly,according to the questionnaires and interviews,this paper analyzed the current situation and existing problems of the technology adoption of farmers in cooperatives;secondly,this paper established the influence factors index system of farmers' technology adoption in farmers' professional cooperatives and tested the influencing factors of farmers'technology adoption through the social network analysis method,Logistic regression model and ISM model;Finally,this paper put forward the decision-making mechanism of farmers'technology adoption in the farmers' professional cooperatives on the basis of the situation and the influence factors of technology adoption.The main conclusions are as follows:(1)The current situation of farmers' technology adoption in cooperatives:for technology requirements,farmers had diversified features.among the farmers technology demands,79.31%and 65.52%expressed the demand for greenhouse technology and marketing techniques respectively,and the two technologies were the most popular with farmers in cooperatives;for technology adoption,it mainly included new varieties,pollination technology,facility greenhouse technology,water-saving irrigation technology and marketing techniques;for the source of information and technology acquisition,it was mainly based on the exchanges between neighbors or relatives,and both cooperatives and scientific research units were also important for the information and technology acquisition;for technology adoption preferences,most of the farmers belonged to the risk aversion type;for the effect of technology adoption,most of the farmers said that the technology was quite effective,but 26.56%farmers considered that technology adoption just was a little bit of effect.(2)The existing problem about technology adoption of farmers in the cooperatives:the main problems were the low cultural quality,conservative technology requirements,lack of effective supply of technology,vacancy of technical extension staff and poor technical service environment.and the poor technical service environment was mainly reflected from 3 aspects,which are the lack of the body of technology supply or poor technical services,the absence of test and demonstration fields and poor lending environment.(3)The influencing factors of technology adoption of farmers in the cooperatives:The cultural degree,farming population,total household income,planting enthusiasm,planting scale,degree of land fragmentation,arable land,difficulty degree of loans,difficulty level of technology acquisition,cooperatives scale,cooperatives cohesion ability,management ability and degree center affected the farmers' technology adoption.Among factors,except the total household income,other factors had a positive effect on farmers' technology adoption.At the same time,it was also found that farming population,total household income,planting enthusiasm,planting scale,degree of land fragmentation,arable land and degree center were the superficial influencing factors for farmers' technology adoption in the cooperatives,and difficulty degree of loans,difficulty degree of technology acquisition,cooperatives cohesion ability,cooperatives scale and management ability were the middle influencing factors,and culture level was the deep influencing factor and the most profound root.The superficial influencing factors would directly affect the decision-making behavior of farmer's technology adoption in the cooperatives,and the middle influencing factors will indirectly influence the farmers' technology adoption decision through affecting the superficial influencing factors.In addition,the deep influencing factor will affect the decision-making behavior of farmers'technology adoption in the cooperatives through the role of the middle influencing factors.(4)The decision-making mechanism of farmers' technology adoption in cooperatives was formed by interaction between internal and external driving based on farmers' technology requirements.Generally,the internal driving was a dominant force for farmers' technology adoption in cooperatives,it included the driving force of technology requirements and the profit-risk force.While the external driving existed as an auxiliary factor,which included the force of organizational impetus and network impact.And the profit-risk force has the strongest capability for the decision-making of farmers' technology adoption.Besides,in order to enhance the practical value of this research,this paper put forward some measures or recommendations according to the research results.The measures included four aspects which are the farmers' education level,the environment of technology adoption,the construction of cooperatives and the construction of social network.
