An Empirical Study Of The Trade Potential Between China And The Countries Along The Maritime Silk Road

Since the financial crisis in 2008,the global economy has undergone profound changes.Although the rapid development of economic globalization,but the world trade growth has begun to slow down,or even signs of atrophy.China plays an important role in the world trade,but also because of the impact of the financial crisis,trade volume fell sharply.So,for China and the world economy,some measures are needed to alleviate the current situation of trade development.At this time,"The Belt and Road" strategy came into being.In this context,President Xi Jinping put forward the "maritime Silk Road" construction,and points out that the trade flow is the important part of construction and infrastructure,but also the bridge connecting the other hand,can be said that the first is the Silk Road trade route.Therefore,this article from the trade point of view,the use of gravity model to analyze the "Silk Road of the sea" will have an impact on China's trade.Based on the domestic and foreign research,this paper establishes the framework of logical analysis.First of all,the paper makes a qualitative analysis on the trade situation of China along with the "maritime Silk Road".Secondly,we use panel data to analyze the factors that affect the trade potential by using the gravity model.According to the empirical results,we predict the trade potential between China and the countries along the silk road.Finally,conclusions and policy recommendations.It is found that the economic scale of the exporting country and the importing country is significantly positive correlation between GDP and export level,while the distance between the two sides of the trade has a significant negative impact on exports.China and the maritime Silk Road along the country there is a huge potential for trade.China can strengthen economic and trade cooperation with countries along the way,continue to promote the construction of the maritime Silk Road,thereby increasing trade exports,improve trade standards,and jointly promote the development of the world economy.
