Since the reform and opening up,with the support of China's huge population dividend and national policy,the development of OEM industry,which has been booming for about 30 years,has accumulated substantial technical skills and management knowledge for the development of China's manufacturing industry.While due to the 2008 financial crisis,the decline in export trade,recruitment difficult problem and the influence of the migration of low-end manufacturing to the Southeast Asia,many small and medium-sized enterprises,oriented on export business and engaged in low-end manufacturing,have gone bankrupt unfortunately.The rest has had to reduce processing costs,improves the quality to win the left orders.It is a critically important issue to improve the level of internal management,and further to enhance the competitiveness of cost management for the survivals.F company,a huge business group mainly engaged OEM business,has excellent capacity of vertical integration in supply chain management and lean management,and it has ranked first in China's top 500 exports for many years.F company has been investing in China for about 28 years,formed a successful management model of internal localization,which is worthy to be studied in detail for the domestic manufacturing enterprises to improve their management level.In the research,the author studies the improvement of J production line of F plant in Yantai,which is also the company where the author has been worked for 10 years.Based on the full understanding of the production system and the improvement system of F company,the author has improved the application method of production management via lean thinking,and formed a model to enhance the management level,which could be used to reduce the cost of many production lines at other companies.The thesis is divided into four parts.First,the paper summarizes the mainstream of lean thinking,and emphasizes that "add value for customers" is the core of lean,which could also be considered to be the guidance of all improvement,and the paper introduces the common ways to apply lean thinking at domestic enterprises with the analysis in advantages and disadvantages through investigation and studies.The author also studies literatures and the papers of other experts and scholars about lean thinking,and lists the methods which could be used in this paper at the reference section.Second,the paper briefly introduces the general situation of F company,the state parameters of the J production line such as layout and manpower,etc.and demonstrates the pressure to reduce costs.The author quantitatively chooses the direction of improvement according to the analysis of efficiency,yield and factory area.The author plans the improvement project using the method of standardization,process optimization and smart automation.During the process of analysis,there are not only the traditional techniques such as process analysis,and line balancing,but also the IE simulation technology,which is used to analyze the complex man-machine cooperation and automation.The third,in order to ensure feasibility of the project and help to build a culture of continuous improvement,the author uses two systems named "lost time system" and "proposals” for support.And the author also compares the result of the project in area,personnel efficiency in this part.At the final part,it is kind to summarize the main idea of the study for readers to make it simple to get the most important things.The paper focuses on how to apply lean thinking to guide the production line operation improvement in practice,and the paper also shows the way to use “eight wastes” to make the problems clear,the way to use “seven methods” in analysis,different scenarios to use simulation and the way to find the opportunity of automation.The author also provides some improvement of special issues in details,expecting that could provide some effective reference of improvement for domestic manufacturing enterprises.
