This thesis investigates the question whether Ukraine will become a hub-country on the New Silk Road and how beneficial will that be for Beijing.It is a multilevel study that aims to analyze the strategic behavior of Ukraine and her possible participation in the Chinese initiative.For that,it borrows the theoretical frameworks from economic and political disciplines.Which is,the Game Theory,the Balance-of-Power Theory and the Location Specific Advantage Theory.The study is based on the assumption that "One Belt.One Road" initiative of Beijing will be successful and the military conflict between Russia and Ukraine in a long run will be over.At the micro level,the study analyzes different routes for the One Belt,One Road initiative via Ukraine and from Ukraine to China.Another real and potential routes,of the Silk Road,which run through the region of Central Eastern Europe are analyzed,too for the comparison.Also the study analyses the investment climate in Ukraine and the most promising area which will be the most beneficial for the successful implementation of the investment opportunities of "One Belt.One Road"(further OBOR)initiative in Central and Eastern Europe.The main goal of the paper is to answer the question whether or not Ukraine will become an important transit country on the Silk Road.
