A New Model Of Cross-border Logistics-research On Site Selection Of Overseas Warehouses

Recently,the Chinese government attaches great importance to the development of cross-border E-commerce.Relevant policy documents being introduced in succession,traditional enterprises starting to testing the water in cross-border business,the attractiveness of cross-border e-commerce to consumers gradually increasing,all of which are to the advantage of rapid development of cross-border e-commerce.As the last mile of cross-border trade,only when logistics deliver products to customers can cross-border trade be completed smoothly.Therefore,the development of cross-border logistics is also a matter of great concern.However,on one hand,cross-border e-commerce continues to thrive;On the other,cross-border logistics remains stagnant,unable to catch up with the pace of cross-border e-commerce.Against this major background,a rising cross-border logistics mode-overseas warehouse comes into being.As an important innovation of cross-border logistics mode,overseas storage successfully solves a series of problems regarding cross-border logistics,such as expensive cross-border costs,long delivery time and so on.Its essence is to transfer the location of cross-border trade to local area,which will shorten the distance with local consumers and improve their shopping experience.At last,this will ensure our national enterprises a strong place to put their feet on in target markets.This paper begins with the development of cross-border e-commerce and cross-border Logistics by using charts and data to directly and vividly demonstrate the status quo of cross-border e-commerce and logistics and the close symbiotic relationship between the two.Then,through the analysis and comparison of several traditional modes of cross-border logistics,this paper draws a conclusion that the current cross-border logistics has the following problems:long delivery time,the difficulty to track the whereabouts of the whole package and to return,too much customs clearance obstacles,the phenomenon of widespread damage and so on.These obstacles have greatly restricted the rapid development of cross-border logistics even cross-border e-commerce.Cross border e-commerce industry urgently needs a new distribution model to match the pace of development of cross-border e-commerce.This paper describes the advantages and disadvantages of overseas warehouse and its scope of application and analyzes its important role in the modern cross-border logistics industry.This paper introduces the macro and micro factors needed to be considered in the selection of overseas warehouses.It creatively analyses macro factors using PESTEL model,that is,from political,economic,social,scientific and technological,environmental,legal and strategic point of view.And as to micro factors,it also constructs the key cost formula based on the principle of the lowest total logistics expenses.Meanwhile,it points out the general principles that should be paid attention to during location selection.Then,combined with the case analysis of overseas distribution center of A company,the writer puts forward the general workflow of overseas warehouse site selection for the first time,using SWOT model to investigate the feasibility of overseas warehouse and adopting the weighted average method and the formula limited method to quantify the influence of macro and micro factors on the location of overseas warehouses,which eventually verify the scientific rationality of the above analysis.All these aims to provide reference and guidance for cross-border e-commerce enterprises to go global with the world-oriented far-sight.
