Research On Supply Chain Management Of Equipment Set Project Under EPC General Contracting Mode

Under the background of economic globalization,domestic enterprises which undertake international project get a lot of preferential policies supporting from Chinese "The Belt and Road" strategy for their financing and equipment exports,so there are a large number of Chinese construction enterprises chose to take participate in international project contracting market competition.After decades of experience accumulation and technology development,the high-quality and cost-effective international engineering projects which were contracted by Chinese construction enterprises make Chinese construction enterprises become more competitive in the international project market.However,with the traditional international project contracting mode changing from DDB(Design-Bid-Build)mode and DB(Design-Build)mode to EPC(Engineering-Procurement-Construction)mode,the owners of engineering projects do not simply require the engineering quality and low cost but are more likely chasing for high level of professional service and project management.In this condition,Chinese enterprises which contract international engineering project have to take greater risk.In order to reduce the pressure and risk of project management,increasing number of owners and EPC general contractors of international engineering project will vow to subcontract electromechanical equipment design,procurement,logistics and on-site installation work to one or more specialized equipment departments and enterprises.Some of the traditional engineering contracting enterprises have begun to develop the complete sets of equipment business and put a high value on it.This paper firstly analyzed the reasons and requirements of EPC general contractors subcontracting equipment complete project,and then summarized the types of the equipment contracting enterprises and their respective advantages.Secondly,this paper built a kind of supply chain model of equipment complete sets of projects based on the analysis of the contents and characteristics of equipment,capital and information flow.Finally,the paper analyzed the development of supply chain management and existing problems of Power Construction Corporation of China,ZhongNan Engineering Corporation Limited's equipment supply chain management then put forward some optimization suggestions.
