Long Term Care Insurance: China's Current Situation And International Experience

As the population aging all over the world,we are now facing the increasingly demand of long term care insurance as most other countries do.China has officially stepped into graying society since the beginning of the 21 th century,and with the growing number of functionless elders,dramatically changed family structure as well as the rocketing nursing expenditures,the whole community is standing at the key point of building long term care insurance policy.This paper first introduces the current long term care insurance market including the huge demand which is not being filled with and the development of private long term care insurance and with most importance,the situation of the ongoing experimental model of the pilot cities including the specific policies,outcomes and some problems.Secondly,by studying carefully of the financing,population coverage and benefits,this paper analysis the progress and disadvantage of the US and Germany's long term care insurance policies.At last,there gives some advices to build our own long term care insurance policies.
