Nowadays,science and technology is under very fast development,which makes enterprises more and more knowledge-intensive.As enterprises are becoming more dependent on knowledge innovation and technology development,they tend to put forward higher requirements on their human resource reserve.Because of the fact that retired employees usually have plenty of human capital,such as knowledge,skills and experience,they have become the group of people knowledge-intensive enterprises want to keep so much.However,the current retention activities of retired employees conducted by knowledge-intensive enterprises still have lots of problems,which can influence the re-use of retired employees and cause a waste of human resources.This paper aims to design a mechanism of retired employees' retention,which can be used to attract,keep and re-use retired employees effectively for knowledge-intensive enterprises.This paper chooses literature review and case analysis as the main research methods.With the help of other people's work,we can know that retired employees'demands mainly have four aspects:emotion,health condition,value creation and self-promotion out of professional fields.This will provide the right direction for the design of retention mechanism.Through case analyses and further literature reviews,it can be found that the design of retention mechanism also involves the above four aspects.Meanwhile,enterprises must keep the retention mechanism work smoothly through human,money and equipment supports,and finally achieve the full use of retired employees.
