Study On The Role Of Beijing Sub-City Center Construction In Urban Sprawl

Beijing has entered a high degree of urbanization,a high degree of congestion and expansion of the city center triggered a series of urban disease,suburbanization has become the trend of future development.“Beijing,Tianjin and Hebei development plan” clearly put forward the Beijing ease of non capital function and reduce the proportion of the population of the city center,under this background,the construction of Beijing sub-city center has become the focus of the project conform to this trend.Beijing sub-city center is a major move of Beijing’s space strategy transformation.Its essence is to ease the city center city function,ease Beijing’s urban diseases;its goal is to establish an independence and fully functional regional center in the city of Beijing periphery;its meaning is the spatial structure of Beijing city reconstruction,to promote the Beijing city from a single center to multi center transformation.Throughout the world big city area construction experience of the suburbs,suburbanization form large city area can be divided into the spreading and jumping,and according to the suburbanization timing can be divided into suburbanization of residential guidance and suburbanization of industrial guidance.In fact,the problem of urban sprawl in Beijing is due to the lag of residential suburbanization,lead to the center city function gathering and slow concentration.Because of the expansion of urban sprawl,we should not deny the objective trend of urban sprawl.The development of Beijing needs to find a new way to evacuate.Tongzhou District becomes sub-city center of Beijing city because of its good location and development,however,the development of Tongzhou District is still far from the requirements of the construction of sub-city center.Tongzhou District’s backward industrial development,low level of economic development,the problem of uneven living and other issues have caused the problem of urban sprawl,however,the existing metro planning in Tongzhou District is only155 square kilometers of the core area of the sub-city center,a serious lag behind the status of the Tongzhou District metropolitan area into the sub-city center,it is likely to cause disorderly development again.To successfully complete the task of the city center to ease non capital function,we must change the development of ideas,expand the space for urban development,with small towns into the urban construction system,make the small towns take on the function of the city,only in this way can we enhance the carrying capacity and development space of Tongzhou District as the sub-city center,and in the absence of urban disease in Tongzhou District,alleviate the urban disease in the city center and improve the development of Beijingurban sprawl.This paper focus on how to avoid the occurrence of urban disease and better solve the problem of non capital function to alleviate the problem of urban disease in the central city.The empirical analysis of Tongzhou District is carried out,and the main conclusions are as follows:(1)the construction of towns can improve the carrying capacity and development space of the sub-city center,and improve the ability of the construction of the sub-city center to alleviate the congestion in the central area of the city,and improve the current situation of Beijing’s urban sprawl;(2)the construction of towns is an important means of urban sprawl,forming the pattern of regional space development based on small and medium-sized towns,avoiding the emergence of urban disease in the sub-city center.
